Guest
Is there a way to repack or adjust Cobra slashcuts to quiet them down a little. I have a Vstar1100 and didnt like the quietness of the stock exhaust, so I got a set of slashcuts. Only problem is, I am in a hospital zone, and the slashcuts are almost too loud. Would like to find a way to tone them down a little. Any suggestions??? Thanks in advance... OBH
Guest
They must come apart some how. You could see if they are full of packing or not. You can by muffler packing at bike shops but you may have to order it. If you pipes are older then sometimes the packing breaks down and get blown out. I took on apart once and it was empty. These pipes are less than 3 months old, so I don't think thats a problem... So is it called muffler packing??? or does it have a more technical term? J Ace
Check with Cobra, some of their pipes, you can change out the baffle's for quieter ones!!!
Guest
Just checked my pipes, they are welded in baffles. Talked to my local fixit guy, and he said just take a rotosaw, and gently cute the welds, pull the baffle and pack them and get someone to tack the welds back in... Going to try that... will let you all know how it turned out. Thanks for the awesome advice )
