highway bars vs. engine guards

I have been thinking about replacing my engine guards with highway bars

but reading on the c90 delphi forums and on the volusia riders forums

i've seen where a few members have had accidents caused by the highway

bars touching down before the floor boards causing the front wheel

to leave the pave. Baron bars are curved up so as to avoid this problem

but i think they only make them for the c50 model.Was wondering if there are any

other options out there? Or opinions about either the bars or guards?
