  8. Sadly we retire #50010 for Heather Cloutier. Our deepest condolences to her husband Pierre, their family and friends. A message from Pierre that he would like to share: My wife Heather died early Saturday morning of a massive heart attack. I would like to have her added to the CMC list of fallen members. Her rider handle was "SunShine" and she lived up to the name. She became a member of CMC late in 2008 when we were with 003 Mississauga. She moved with me to 057 Georgina in 2011. Was my greatest supporter when we tried to establish 097 Stouffville and moved with me one last time to 050 Durham in 2018. She was a loving wife, mother of two and loyal friend to anyone who came to her with an open heart. You would be hard pressed to find a gentler soul than her. She leaves behind only wonderful memories for those that knew and loved her. Her memorial service will be in the O'Neill Funeral Home located in Stouffville, Saturday June 1st at 11:00 AM. Her beautiful smile will be missed.

  16. Sadly we retire #23033 for Mike Dunn who passed away Feb 21, 2019. Our deepest condolences to Kim and their family and friends. May 12, 1951 – February 21, 2019 Mike passed away peacefully surrounded by love after living with brain cancer for over a year. Mike worked at Winnipeg Hydro for 30 years until his retirement in 2000. He moved on to his next career as a bartender at many bars, including The Tyndall Hotel, The Oak Bank Bar (OBB), The Royal George and the Royal Canadian Legion. Mike was a true gentleman; charming, quick-witted and a bit rough around the edges. He earned a fifth-degree black belt in Tae Kwan Do and competed in many martial arts competitions. He taught Tae Kwan Do in Winnipeg and in Cooks Creek for many years. Mike owned and showed miniature horses and was the founder of the Miniature Horse Association of Manitoba. Mike was also an avid cyclist, runner and curler. His love for motorcycle riding took a back seat when marriage and raising his two sons, Andrew and Robert became a priority. Once the boys were grown and Mike was single again, he bought a motorcycle and enjoyed riding until he was no longer able. Mike and Kim enjoyed 13 years as partners in life. Together they rode their motorcycles from coast-to-coast in Canada, with the highlight of their riding being their 2016 trip to Newfoundland. They also enjoyed some trips in the States. Mike retired permanently in 2016 and lived for riding during the summers. When not riding, Mike enjoyed his days by banging on the drum kit, cooking, enjoying a cigar, a drink and crossword puzzle on the patio while waiting for “my Kimmy” to come home from work. He lived life to the fullest, with few regrets. Mike was predeceased by his parents Robert and Nora; his beloved son Andrew; and brother-in-law Fred Gailus. He is survived by his son Robert; daughter-in-law Leticia; wife Kim; her children Kelsey and Ian; his brother Richard; sister Andrea Gailus as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends, and his best pal, his cat, Put Put. In keeping with Mike’s wishes, cremation has taken place. An informal gathering will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 81, 300 Trent Avenue on Thursday, February 28 beginning at 3:30 pm. A Eulogy will be given at 4:30 pm. Mike’s family wishes to express their thanks to Cancer Care Manitoba as well as the amazing staff at Riverview Health Care Centre 3 East for the care and compassion shown to Mike. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Andrew Dunn Fund, Box 89, Oakbank, MB, R0E 1J0 or a charity of your choice.

    Tectonic Shifting

Yes Robert, By all accounts that year/mileage ratio does seem rather anemic. Unfortunately life at times does intrude. However I will be taking steps to prioritize work/leisure and definitely see if I can do something about increasing that mileage number.

agreed, try with passenger and as much gear as possible to get the feel of each bike you are considering. But, 9 years and only 45,000 kms?

Grand River Motorcycle Ride for Dad

It's almost that time of year!?! 😎 GRAND RIVER MOTORCYCLE RIDE FOR DAD!! June 1st, 2019 at 50 Sportsworld Crossing Road (King and Sportsworld Drive), Kitchener. I have formed a "Canadian Motorcycle Cruisers (CMC)" team, so feel free to join. All your fundraising efforts will remain in your name, they will simply tally up all CMC members totals into one. Like last year, I did not specify a specific chapter as there are many chapters that partake in this event. I will be emailing for VIP parking and will let you know when it's confirmed. This year's event will mark my 10th year participating in this event which raises money for prostate cancer research. Bonus: All monies raised in this area will remain in this area Thanks to all those that support my fundraising efforts, I reached the gold level last year ($5000+ raised). I am truly thankful to all those that come out to the ride to support a great cause, and to all those that support my fundraising. You can click on the link below to donate online, or if you prefer to do it in person, let me know as I always have a donation form with me. http://support.pcff.ca/site/TR/RideforDad2019/MRFD_General?px=1062194&pg=personal&fr_id=1764&fbclid=IwAR2Szl8Bftwl9AOtXi5insdtYRKkKz2mKSTvRJG1hp6FPFOCk9Y4pBti-P0
