Sadly I have received the following message from Richard Gondek's wife Liz...

 

I regret to inform you that Richard Gondek(Rickster 071) passed away Saturday September 20th.There will be a memorial service at Crossroads Christian Assembly in Newcastle Saturday,October 4th at 1pm.Thank you all so much for the rides.He loved his bike and wanted to go on every single ride.

Gondek, Richard
Age 66 years. Retired Durham Elementary School Teacher. Passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy battle with bladder cancer. Leaves his loving wife and best friend Liz; sons Cody and Andrew. Uncle to Steve, Michelle, Bryan, Noel (Melodie), Taylor, Joseph, Sabina and Stephanie. Brother of Andy and brother in law of Dick and Joan Hyatt. Predeceased by parents Andrew and Stella. At his request cremation has taken place. A memorial service/celebration of Richard’s life to be held at Crossroads Christian Assembly, Hwy 35/115 and Concession 3 (just south of McDonalds) will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 1pm. Family will receive guests at 12:30pm. Memorial donations to Hearth Place or Durham Hospice would be appreciated. Condolences may be made online at http://www.newcastlefuneralhome.com.
